Although Catherine finished this box last month it had to wait for the newsletter since it was an anniversary gift for her sweetie, Erik.  This was a hand carved box from a piece of Plum wood.  The top was sliced off and the bark remained.  A lovely contrast to the highly polished woodgrain.

Echo's little sister,  5 and 3/4 year old Sephy, finished her flower.  She didn't let a broken arm keep her from finishing.

Echo carved and colored this deep relief Skunk.  She did a great job coloring the piece to really accentuate the the deep carving.

Art for the past 4 years has hand made Christmas ornaments for his grandkids.  This years carved and painted angels turned out really nice.  They are not overly detailed or carved and have a wonderful folk "Art" feel.  Lucky Grandkids.

I was driving a few days back and saw a sign saying Free Firewood.  You know what that means to a woodcarver.  I picked up this piece of Liquid Amber. It is a section of the trunk where several large branches originate. I am hoping there will be some interesting grain.
